The area of Nordland county is 38.327 sq.km with app 240 thousand people. The county borders Troms in the North and Nord-Troendelag in the South. East is Sweden. The capital is Bodø. Nordland is synonymous with good fishing and the famous fishing banks of Lofoten.

The Sami, native inhabitants of Norway live here. They are hunters and skiers who kept animals resembling deer (reindeer).
